Software Data Protection features
The PowerVault MD3000i offers optional snapshot and virtual-disk copy capabilities for increased data protection. Snapshots provide point in time data copies to facilitate quick recoveries, while Virtual-disk Copies are exact replicas of entire logical drives. Both are helpful in backing up to tape.

Multi-select Hard Drives and Fillers
Choose the same capacity and spindle speed when configuring RAID performance and protection on multiple hard drives. Performance can be optimized by increasing the number of drives (or spindles) in a virtual RAID set and by choosing a high spindle speed (15,000 RPM).
