The PV LTO4-120HH external tape drive is the value-priced half-height version of the latest generation LTO drive, featuring SAS connectivity and industry leading speed and capacity, ideal for backing up your PowerEdge servers or PowerVault storage servers. The capacity of the LTO4 media is 800GB (native) at a backup rate of 120MBps. Includes cleaning media.

Tape Media
Tape backup and archiving offer various strategies (Full, Incremental, Differential) and rotation schemes ("Tower of Hanoi", "Round-Robin", "Grandfather, Father, Son"). At a minimum, Dell recommends a 3 tape media rotation to help protect your data from catastrophic loss (one in-use at the office , one archived on-site, and a third archived off-site). WORM (Write Once, Read Many) media technology is widely used to meet growing business and regulatory requirements, preserving data written to a tape cartridge so that it cannot be rewritten, erased or altered in any way.
