Dell has several hard drive options that can meet your specific business needs. Note: RAID configurations include 2 hard drives; however, since the drives are configured as a RAID array, the system may only show one hard drive present. For example, a 160GB RAID 1 configuration includes two 160GB hard drives; however, the system will see one 160GB hard drive capacity to store files due to mirroring technology.

The OptiPlex XE comes standard with an 88% efficient, wide-ranging power supply which enables support for Dell’s participation with the 80PLUS and ESTAR environmental programs.
The OptiPlex XE supports an added security feature referred to as the chassis intrusion switch. It can help alert IT administrators that a system side cover has been removed providing additional monitoring for theft prevention. In order for IT to receive an alert, this feature requires the appropriate systems management software.

External Power Switch
The OptiPlex XE allows users who are integrating their system into a kiosk or enclosure to externally route the power button. The routing for an external power switch provides a wire routing from the system power switch to the outside via a slot on the front chassis bezel. The routing then allows solutions providers to integrate into a power switch that can then be accessed outside of an enclosure; no need to unlock or open.

System Monitoring Options
The Watchdog Timer application is a tool that can self-monitor the system during the boot sequence and O/S load as well as any user-identified key applications. The Dell Watchdog Timer is hardware based with a software usser interface, and must be enabled through the Dell factory. Once enabled, the end user has the ability to configure the desired system response taken in the event a system hangs during boot or O/S load, or if an application does not respond in the specified amount of time.
The OptiPlex XE supports up to 3 12V powered USB ports (on DT, SFF supports 2) and 2 additional serial ports with PCI add in cards. The serial ports can be converted to powered serial.
Your purchase of a Latitude notebook will include one 3-foot power cord with the primary adaptor. If you select an additional Dell Branded AC power adapter customer kit, you will receive an additional 3-foot power cord.
